Hi friends.
Today we will write 1000 words. Together. Because writing is a shaking loose of hidden emotions and ideas. Think of what is waiting to be freed by our pens or our keystrokes. That which is trapped or clinging to our interior selves. What good does it do to let it go? We know the answer. To write can change the course of our days—if not the rest of our lives.
On this final day of writing together, we know what it means to believe in ourselves. To stop questioning if we can. We can! We can do this. You’ve figured out the when and how, because you’re here right now. And you can do it again tomorrow, and you can do it next week. If you take anything away from the past five days I want you to recognize one thing: this is sustainable.
If you are in Savannah on Thursday I will be doing two events. (The event in Nashville on Friday is sold out, sorry.) If you are in the Los Angeles area the following week, I will be doing two more events. I am touring on behalf of my new novel, A Reason to See You Again, and the paperback of 1000 Words, which is out today.
Thank you for being here with me, and for being so supportive of each other. Honestly? Incredible vibes. You have a good year ahead of writing waiting ahead of you, I can just tell. I hope you enjoy it. You can find me at Craft Talk now through the rest of the year.
Good luck and see you back here sometime in the fall—
Jami
Just 1000 and that is it and that is enough! Thanks for playing everyone!
Thank you for showing up at just the right moment. I have a new story! And a new routine. This challenge encouraged me to put down the character development exercises and just write. Now I have three brand new characters and a direction that is making me do a dance.
