Hi friends.
Today we will write 1000 words. Together. Because it’s how we process our lives, ideas, thoughts, feelings, every little thing. When we write, we have a place to put all of it. And I urgently need that place—don’t you?
Let’s write today with a sense of necessity and determination. And curiosity about ourselves and the world around us. Let’s let those thousand words show us the way through.
I’ll end this fourth letter with another obsession:
Today is a good day to get obsessed with the weather. The seasons, the temperature, the natural disturbances, the way the climate makes a scene expand or contract. Send your character into a storm, perhaps, or, if you’re writing about yourself, remember a hot, hot day from your youth. Or just simply meditate how hot or cold it is in the room. Maybe, ever so slightly, it could shift your work.
Good luck today. I believe in you.
Jami
I didn't get all the words before my eyes started closing. I did get a good start on my next newsletter edition.
So, I've got that going for me... Which is nice.
1188 words on how I ended up in San Francisco. I am impressed especially after an exhausting day at work and...election day! But made it and feeling good about my own accountability.
