If you’ve arrived here because someone has forwarded this to you, you can find more about this project here and here.
Hi friends.
Today we will write 1000 words. Together. Because we are in this for the long haul. This creative space. This industrious, inquisitive frame of mind. This is how we feel about ourselves: we are writers in this lifetime. And we are committed to making something new with our words.
Because we are trying to build something here. Lay down the groundwork for something fresh, present, and relevant—for ourselves, or perhaps to show other people. A book, an essay, a play, a film, the story of your life, or maybe just a big feeling that can only be captured in a delicate lattice of words. We are here to write.
Are you in it for life? Is this who you are, this writer person? Can you define yourself as a writer, right now, and forever? If you’re here, I think you are. If you’re here, I think you want it. If you’re here, you’re ready to write.
Good luck, today. One thousand words, let’s go.

1002 and I am going to pick up my flower order now. Hope everyone is having fun today!
Funny how one random thought of not wanting to be sucked into dealing with WW2 brought on this morning’s deep dive into backstory history. I’m not saying it was wasted effort because it needed to be done. I guess I was so involved, I didn’t even remember drinking that second cup of coffee and ended up with 2500 words.
