Hi friends.
Today we will write 1000 words. Together. Because we are hungry to write something new or cool or different. Something that feels important to us! And we cannot sit still a minute longer. It is time to write.
I’m glad you’re here with me. I woke up thinking about how I was going to get this work done today knowing you were doing it, too. It’s a special kind of magic when we all commit to this together. The words don’t have to be perfect or better than anyone else’s. They just have to be done. And the words come out easier when we hold ourselves—and each other—accountable.
So just know that when you’re pushing yourself to cross that finish line every day, I’ll be doing the same thing—as will nearly 8,000 other people.
And what I’ll be working on is a new novel, really digging into it. For a while now I’ve just playing around with some ideas, not being too responsible to the material. Being a little messy and experimental and that’s it. But now it is time to hold myself accountable again. One thousand words a day starts now. For all of us.
Comments are open for you to take a moment to share what you’re working on. Or if you want to track your word count for the day when you’re finished. (I’ll also be on twitter later this afternoon looking at the #mini1000 hashtag.)
Good luck everyone. Now get to work!
Jami
p.s. If you’re new here, here’s more about me, this project, and the 1000 WORDS book, which is available now.
OK I'm clocking out at 1305. Got my head in it though! I think this is going to be a productive week.
Hi! I am so excited to be part of this mini!!! I would love nothing more than to dive in right now, but around 375 pregnant or nursing cows are waiting for me to bring them some treats and ensure all newborns and mommas are doing well this morning.
I'll be back shortly, though.
I'm so excited!
