Hi friends.
Today we will write 1000 words. Because we want to make our time count for something.
We’ve got three months left in the year. What did you want to accomplish in 2021? What goals did you set for yourself? Did you want to reconnect with your playful and creative side? Did you want to complete a book proposal? Did you want to write three new short stories? Did you finally want to finish your goddamn novel? Did you want to re-examine your voice just to see what the hell you sound like these days?
I have three months left to write another 15,000 words and clean them up and make them shine, too. If I do this I will be on track with the schedule for my new book, which is due at the end of 2022. That’s the goal I’ve set for myself during this complicated year I’ve had, so many of us had. Fifteen thousand more words. If I say it out loud, I get one step closer to making it true.
The good news for all of us: there’s still so much time left in 2021.
And now we start on that path. One thousand words a day for the next six days.
Comments are open for you to share what you specifically want to accomplish in the next six days, and, if you feel like it, by the end of the year.
Team, we are here, and we are doing this. Let’s go.

Exactly 1000 and done. 🙏
My goal is just to write for the next 6 days. I sort of lost myself this year, or maybe just my passions. Things got shifted around and (re)prioritized. I haven't read a book in a few months, haven't taken a photo in longer. I've written a few sentences here and there. All these passions that I used to talk about and be proud of, stalled. I want to write for the next 6 days to commit to them again, to make a space for them. Because I do believe that if I make space for one, the rest will follow. I'm at my best and most creative when my passions are all active and fulfilled.
