Day 3, Summer 2025, Mini 1000
Because it's important.
Hi friends.
Today we will write 1000 words. Together. Because it’s important. Holy shit, aren’t we all writing for our lives these days?
Look, I know how stressed out everyone is. I’ll not detail our crises or complaints. But what I do know is making art is important, putting pen to paper is important, sharing with the world whatever messages we urgently need to communicate, making cool shit for people you love and strangers, too, all of that is radically important and will also make us feel better and less alone in the world. So let’s sit down, all of us, these last 1000 words. Let’s do it because we need to believe in something today.
Thanks for being here these past three days; it was an honor and a pleasure both. I am happy to do this for free, but if you’d like to support me personally, you can either subscribe or buy a copy of 1000 Words which is also maybe a treat for you?
I hope to sneak one more of these in this fall, and we will definitely meet again in January. I love these quick hits of connection. They help me thrive as a writer and a person. I hope they help you too.
I’ll leave you now with this idea for tomorrow: Pretend this challenge lasts for the rest of your life. We can believe in something forever if we just get up and try to write.
Sending love to all of you,
Jami
p.s. If you’ve arrived here because someone has forwarded this to you, you can find more about this project here and here.

1005! Thanks for playing everyone! ❤️
One of the amazing beauties of 1000 words is that all your morning letters are saved. Tomorrow, I’m going back to Day One from earlier this summer. 14 days of vacation, ten days of summer. (Giving myself grace on travel days to write on the plane or just think and note.) And bought myself a paperback version of the book with me, too. The e book was great but you can’t use a highlighter on an iPad.
