Hi friends.
Today we will write 1000 words. Together. Because we want to face our fears. Fears we might have about what we will learn about ourselves through our writing or fears about if we’re good enough to be writing in the first place, or fears about whether or not we can make it across the finish line of this beloved project we have been working on for so hard and so long. And I am here to say, we have nothing to be afraid of if we head straight for the page.
Because our first job, always, is simply to start writing. The rest of it will melt away as we make our way through our 1000 words. Once you’re in it, you’ll be ready to crush those fears. All you have to do is begin.
Be brave today. Write.
Today is the last official day of this run of the Mini 1000. I’ve got another letter going out tomorrow for paid subscribers if you’re interested, and I will be writing again tomorrow as well, finishing up a practice run I’ve been doing of the full two weeks. (I’ve been tracking what I’ve learned here.) So join me if you want one more day of writing.
Otherwise, see you on May 31-June 13 for the main event, with letters from a dozen incredible authors, access to a lively and supportive slack, and all the good writing vibes you’ll need to make it to the other side of two weeks of writing.
But keep that engine running between now and then. You got this. One thousand words, let’s go.
Proud of y’all.
Jami
