Hi friends.

Today we will write 1000 words. Together. You and me and all of us. Because the act of writing — using your imagination and your skills and your soul all at the same time — can feel like a small miracle. And I don’t know about you, but I could use a miracle or two right now. In these times. Or maybe just to feel like it’s possible for miracles to exist.

That’s how writing makes me feel every time. And reading. I put down a book and think: Oh my god, how did they do it? How did they build that universe out of scratch? Was that some kind of like, witchcraft or what?

Although we know, though, don’t we, that in all the magic, there’s something grounded about it, too. There’s dedication and hard work.

Don’t you want to engage in that magic too? Make a little something all on your own, just for yourself, out of thin air. It’s so simple. And it’s right there, waiting for you. You can do this! You can make cool shit happen! Just sit down, right now, and write those 1000 words.
