So nice to hear about everyone's projects and progress. Writing can be so lonesome. Finally restarted one of my two substacks. Sometimes I think it's easier for me to "write about writing" than actually writing. Aiming to restart my long-languishing memoir soon. Happy writing everyone!

I wrote 1459 words in a children’s story I’m writing for my kids. I’ve never written fiction before, but it’s been so fun to have such a specific target audience and be able to read them the next part of the story immediately.

Drafting a new novel and really begin challenged by the content, so I've been stuck since the holidays. Until today. Just over 1000 words yesterday and more to come.

I got 567. I’ll take it!

As I was writing my total word count yesterday, I subconsciously put a dollar sign before it. Erased it, then chuckled as I remembered, “Can we think of the three thousand words we’re going to write this weekend as currency?” I put it back. $1,119. 😊

949 words, divided between two projects. And glad to have them.

I want to finish a scene I promised myself I’d expand in a book I started a few years ago… or more of the scene from my new play.

1,052 words today! Hooray for me! I’ve been walking through a writing desert for months; this supportive expectation was the nudge that I needed.

Thank you so much for this! Am on a writing zoom with a friend and just wrote 5 pages (both sides, freehand) for a new essay. Not sure how many words, but about 2 hours worth. Thank you for the inspiration and this container.

This is perfect timing. I've had a character rolling around in my head for months. This is the opportunity I need to discover if she is a novel character or a short story character. The 1900 words I've sketched previously is now 2900. I'm hoping for 5000 by Monday night. Thank you, Jami!

1000 words and then some of revised work -- very pleased! Grateful for the support, especially here in Minneapolis, where things are challenging to say the least. Thanks, Jami, for all you do.

380 words, cause I'm revising/editing. Going to come back for more later today, but my brain needs lunch! Thank you again for hosting this weekend, Jami. You're the best.
